VIDEO: Gunman believed to be on drugs fires into California hospital; patients sent running

Dramatic surveillance footage from a California hospital shows the moment a gunman fired into an emergency room Friday, forcing a lockdown. The hospital released the footage Sunday.

The footage from Bakersfield Heart Hospital shows an armed man standing outside the emergency room door. He fires into the door and barrels through the shattered glass.

The gunman enters the emergency room and patients and staff are seen running for cover. After about three minutes, the gunman exits out the same door he entered.

According to KGET, 44-year-old Brandon Clark is accused of shooting into the hospital. He was shot by police outside Bakersfield Heart Hospital and treated inside before being transported to another facility. No one else was injured.

Clark has not yet been booked into jail. Bakersfield police said his motive is still unknown, but investigators believe he was on drugs.
