Neighbor walking dog finds woman dead in SUV on Detroit's west side

Police not yet releasing name of victim on Piedmont Street

DETROIT - The body of a woman whose throat was slashed has been found in a SUV on Detroit's west side.

Police at the scene in the 8200 block of Piedmont Street said the victim was found early Monday morning by someone who was walking their dog.

The woman was behind the wheel of the SUV parked in front of an abandoned house.

"The guy was screaming. He ran to my neighbor's house and got her and then she ran down here and got me, and she was like, 'It's a lady in the truck,' and I couldn't understand what she was saying," said a neighbor.

The victim's name has not been released.

"I ran up to the truck to see what she was talking about and when I got up to the truck, I just panicked and ran home and called 911," said the neighbor. "This is somebody's child ... if you've seen what I've seen, oh man it's terrible."
