New Baltimore woman struck, dragged on 23 Mile Road by hit-and-run driver

Police say incident happened just before 2 a.m.; Victim in stable but serious condition

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. - New Baltimore police said a 21-year-old woman was run over and dragged on 23 Mile Road early Thursday morning by a hit-and-run driver.

Police said the incident happened just before 2 a.m. in the 3500 block of 23 Mile Road.

The victim was struck by a dark colored four-door SUV that fled in the direction of I-94.

The victim was taken to McLaren Macomb Hospital, where police said she's in stable but serious condition.

The SUV was being driven by a man with a girl who looked to be in her late teens in the passenger seat, police said.

The SUV may have minor passenger side damage.

Police said drugs may have been involved and one unrelated arrest was made due to an outstanding warrant.
