New poll shows Kid Rock trailing Senator Debbie Stabenow in senate race

DETROIT – While musician Kid Rock has yet to make it official whether or not he is running for U.S. Senate, a newly released poll shows the musician currently trailing incumbent Senator Debbie Stabenow by 18 percent.

The poll, by the Marketing Research Group, consisted of nearly 600 interviews and only asked about the race using Rock's stage name and not his real name Robert Ritchie.

Rock just wrapped up a six concert stint to open the brand new Little Caesars Arena in Downtown Detroit.

During the concert run "Kid Rock '18 for US Senate" merchandise was available, suggesting that he may confirm his senate bid before the end of the run.

At one point during the shows he was also introduced as the next senator of Michigan.

In late July, Rock announced the creation of a non-profit to promote voter registration and stated the in six weeks he would hold a news conference to address his possible campaign.

To date Rock has yet to hold a news conference.
