Oakland County Board of Commissioners to hold swearing-in ceremony

New 21-member board will take oath of office Wednesday, begin 2-year term

PONTIAC, Mich. - The Oakland County Board of Commissioners will hold their inaugural swearing-in ceremony Wednesday in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium.

Participating in the event will be Oakland County Chief Judge of the Circuit Court Nanci J. Grant, Oakland County Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard, and Lisa Brown, the new Oakland County Clerk & Register of Deeds.

The new 21-member Board of Commissioners will take their oath of office and begin a 2-year term, serving from 2013 to 2014.

A presentation of the flags from the Oakland County Sheriff's Color Guard will also participate in Wednesday's ceremony.

Oakland County resident Jonathan Givens will sing the national anthem. The Board of Commissioners said the Church Street Singers will also perform.

The swearing-in ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.
