Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn meets fans at Mt. Brighton

Vonn's visit apart of Mt. Brighton's makeover, prepares for Sochi

BRIGHTON, Mich. – America's most decorated ski racer, Lindsey Vonn, paid a visit to Mt. Brighton on Saturday to meet hundreds of her biggest fans.

Vonn's visit is apart of Mt. Brighton's makeover, and the Olympic champ got her epic start on hills like this one.

"It may not be a huge mountain, but it's the perfect place to start," said Vonn.

Where you'll soon see snow, you can find construction crews now. The ski area is officially becoming a vail resort, with their tag line being "Where epic begins."

But before the new and improved slopes open, Saturday was about fun.

Future skiers signed an Olympic-sized card for Vonn, got their pictures taken and didn't leave without their idol's autograph.

While Vonn is recovering from an injury, she feels ready for Sochi in 2014.

"I've been literally in the gym," said Vonn. "Excited for it."
