Person of interest arrested in string of car robberies in Berkley and Royal Oak

Francis Kotzian accused of robbing unattended vehicles

BERKLEY, Mich. – A man who was named a person of interest in connection with a string of car robberies in Berkley and Royal Oak has been arrested, police said.

Francis Kotzian is in police custody after a series of thefts from unattended vehicles.

Kotzian was originally named a person of interest but was arrested after a collaborative investigation by Berkley and Royal Oak police officers.

Police asked residents to stay alert in the battle against car robberies by removing valuables, locking car windows and doors and taking the keys.
