DETROIT - A 35-year-old woman who crashed into a tree while driving under the influence of alcohol, seriously injuring her two children, has multiple prior incidents involving alcohol and driving on her record, police said.
Officials said the woman was speeding on Chene Street in her 2002 Ford Taurus when she lost control around 8:35 p.m. near Prince Hall Drive and crashed head-on into a tree.
A 12-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy were injured. The girl was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition, and the boy was taken to Children's Hospital in stable condition.
