Police, family search for missing children after mother found dead in Detroit

DETROIT – The search continues for two young children after their mother's body was found on Detroit's west side.

The family of 27-year-old Alicia Fox is devastated after her badly decomposed body was found in an abandoned home on Penrod Street.

"I'm shocked. I'm heartbroken," said Henry Fields, Fox's uncle.

Fox's two children, 8-month-old Kristian and 6-year-old Kaylah, are missing. Detroit Police Chief James Craig said Kevin Hunter, Kaylah's father, filed a missing persons report for the three on June 6. Michigan State Police, who issue Amber Alerts, have not issued one for the children.

Craig said Kevin Hunter and Erin Justice, the childrens' fathers, have been contacted by police and are being cooperative.

"We are taking this very seriously," Craig said. "We're doing everything we can to find the children."

Police are looking for a 2004 Chevy Malibu with the license plate CCR 1286, it's registered to Fox.
