Police investigating whether suspects in chase responsible for robbing Southgate woman

SOUTHGATE, Mich. – Local 4 has obtained dash cam video of a high-speed chase in Livingston County that involved the stolen car of a 92-year-old woman who was tied up and robbed during a break-in at her home.

According to communications between deputies and dispatchers, the black Ford Taurus with two men inside, reached speeds of 120 miles per hour during the chase on Tuesday.

Last week, two men kicked in the side steel door at the elderly woman's Southgate home. They tied her up, going through her home and eventually taking off with the Taurus.

The high-speed chase ended when officers put stop sticks on the road in Fowlerville.

Southgate police are investigating if the men are the ones who targeted the elderly woman.

Police are also investigating whether the men are connected to other break-ins in Southgate.
