Police search for man who approached girl walking to school Downriver

TRENTON, Mich. – Police have released a sketch of a man who approached a child in Trenton March 21.

The student was walking to school when she was approached by a stranger, police said.

According to a police report, the student was walking to Boyd A. Arthur’s Middle School when a rusty brown pickup truck with a navy blue front bumper pulled up next to her at the corner of Marian Drive and Highview Street.

The man in the truck told her to get in the truck. She got scared and ran behind a house on Highview Street, according to the police report.

She had been talking on the phone and was advised to go to her house by the person on the phone, the report said.

The girl told police that when she came out from behind the house, the man was traveling slowly on Westbound Marian Drive. According to police, she ran home and locked herself in the house.

The man is described as white, between 45 and 55 years old and had short, dark hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt.
