Police: 2 men steal diamond rings from store after smashing display with hammer

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Police say two men are responsible for a smash-and-grab style jewelry heist at a Sam's Club before Christmas.

On Dec 23rd, the men walked into the store located on Northwestern Hwy in Farmington Hills and approached the jewelry counter.

When the clerk turned his back one of the men used a small hammer to break open a diamond ring display.

The second man grabbed rings valued at $3,200 before the pair ran out of the store and into the parking lot.

Store surveillance showed the men driving off in a green or teal minivan with a third suspect.

The plates on the van are not visible because they were removed.

Both suspects are black, one was wearing blue jeans and a grey jacket and the other was wearing dark jeans, a red cap with a black hoodie.
