City of Detroit releases unofficial write-in summary for primary election

Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Jesus Christ, among names written on ballot

DETROIT – The City of Detroit has released the unofficial list of write-in candidates from Tuesday's election and it shows not everybody took the election seriously. Among the names which appeared on the ballot: Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck, Goofy, Louis Ferrakhan and Jesus Christ. Businessman Dan Gilbert's name was also mentioned at least once.

Several of the ballots showed an attempt to write-in Mike Duggan's name. Some of the misspellings for the Detroit Mayoral ballot included: Mike Dggn, Mike Guggan; Mike Dug, Mike Huggan, Mike Duggans and Mike Duggar.

The correct spelling of Mike Duggan garnered 44,395 votes. WATCH: Mike Duggan says Detroit is ready for change.

With the city's 614 precincts reporting, Duggan and popular Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon had clear leads over the rest of the field. The top two vote-getters will face only each other in the Nov. 5 general election
