DETROIT – Strong ticket sales have boosted tonight's Powerball lottery jackpot to an estimated $425 million.
The jackpot is the fourth-biggest for any U.S. lottery, and the third-largest for the Powerball. The numbers will be drawn at 11 p.m. eastern time.

The largest jackpot ever stands at $656 million, which was in the Mega Million game, drawn in March of 2012. That prize was split among winners in Maryland, Kansas and Illinois.
The biggest Powerball jackpot single-winner of $590 million was claimed in June by an 84-year-old Florida woman.
Powerball tickets are sold in 43 states, and drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays.
