This is a project that will heavily impact those driving to Ford Field, Greektown and the Renaissance Center. The new designs are based on community input.
"I really like the surface street idea," said Eric Drader of Detroit. "I think it would actually help traffic flow."
Veronica Amiot of Westland prefers the other option, saying: "Keep it as a freeway. I like having faster access."
There are also two designs created for the Interstate 75/I-375 interchange, portions of Gratiot Avenue and the Gratiot Connector, and Jefferson Avenue between Washington Boulevard and Joseph Campau.
The new designs are based on community input along with technical data from the study.
