Security guard carjacked at gunpoint outside nursing home on Detroit's east side

DETROIT – A security guard was carjacked at gunpoint Saturday in Detroit, police said.

Police said the victim was sitting in his vehicle at about 7:30 a.m. at the Eastwood Convalescent Center nursing home in the 600 block of East Grand Boulevard. Two armed men approached the victim, fired one shot and demanded the vehicle, police said.

The 29-year-old victim's 2009 tan Dodge Charger was stolen, police said.

The first carjacker was described as a black man wearing a face mask. He had a handgun, police said.

The second carjacker was described as a Hispanic man, police said. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing all black and had a handgun, police said.
