Metro Detroit weather: Brighter conditions on the way

Sunday will be partly sunny

DETROIT – Saturday was less slippery than Friday -- and some rain and snow fell, as well. But brighter conditions are on the way for the second half of this weekend.

Please join me on Twitter (@AndrewLocal4) for regular weather updates.

Saturday night will be chilly, with overnight lows in the upper 20s and low 30s.

Sunday will become partly sunny. A southwesterly wind coupled with this will boost daytime temps to the middle 40s: a good winter's finish on the last full day of winter.

Spring begins Monday with the vernal equinox at 6:28 a.m. It will be milder but another frontal system arrives. Highs will be in the low 50s with rain showers developing.

After the front passes, it becomes sunnier again but chillier Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Afternoon temps will be in the 30s and 40s each day with nighttime lows in the low and mid 20s.
