State police investigating shooting on I-94 in Detroit

Shooting reportedly stems from argument which began at Detroit casino

OAK PARK, Mich. – Officers with the Michigan State Police Metro Post are investigating a shooting that took place on westbound I94 near Junction in the City of Detroit at approximately 3:10 Tuesday morning.

Police interviews with the victim revealed that a male and female had left the MGM Casino in Detroit when they became involved in a traffic incident with another vehicle.

The victims kept driving when they said they saw the suspect's vehicle following them on the Lodge freeway and then onto I-94. On I-94, near Junction, the suspect opened fire on the vehicle striking both the driver and passenger several times.

The suspect quickly fled the scene. The victims were taken to the hospital by a private ambulance company. The driver was hurt, but is expected to be ok. The passenger was shot nine times and had to undergo surgery. There is no word on the passenger's condition. Police have only described the suspect's vehicle as a black Ford Expedition.
