Sterling Heights larceny suspect identified by fingerprints, tattoo of own name

STERLING HIEGHTS, Mich. – Police, with the assistance of United States Marshals, announced that they have located and arrested 35 year-old Joshua Ray Causey after fingerprint evidence identified him as the suspect in a Sterling Heights larceny case.. 

Sterling Heights police responded to a potential home invasion in the 35000 block of Malibu Drive in July. The resident told officers that an unknown suspect had entered the attached garage through an unlocked door, authorities said..

It was revealed that the suspect had gained access into the parked cars within the garage, stealing prescription medication, sunglasses and a leaf blower, according to authorities.

A technician who processed the crime scene was able to secure fingerprint evidence that connected the suspect to a similar larceny case in the 12000 block of Eldorado Drive, authorities said. Security footage from the scene revealed multiple identifiable tattoos, including the suspect’s last name on his back. 

A warrant was put out for Ray’s arrest, and authorities said they located and arrested him at a Warren hotel on Sept. 28. He has since been arraigned.
