Stretch of I-75 back open after semi loses load near Outer Drive

Southbound lanes were closed for about an hour in Melvindale because of spilled dirt

MELVINDALE, Mich. – A portion of southbound I-75 was shut down Friday morning just after 11 a.m. in Melvindale after a truck hauling dirt lost its load.

All of the southbound lanes were closed for a while, but police quickly opened one lane.

The roadway fully reopened at 12:15 p.m.

There was no word on what may have led to the accident.

There were no reports of any injuries.
