ASH TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police are investigating a crash that left a 17-year-old girl dead Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Manushaqe S. Pasho, of Newport, was driving east on Sigler Road in her Jeep Patriot, with passenger Chelsea L. Klocek, 17, when she collided with a Volvo semi-tractor/trailer, driven by David McCowen, of Morenci, at the North Telegraph Road intersection, causing both vehicles to travel off of the intersection stop along the shoulder of the road.

Klocek was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries suffered in the crash.

Pasho was transported to Oakwood-South Hospital in Trenton, where she is listed in critical condition.

McCowen was not injured during the crash and refused medical treatment.

Police said everyone involved in the crash was wearing seat belts, and neither speed or alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident.
