TAYLOR, Mich. – A couple in Taylor said a thief left some things at their home Friday after they caught him in their car.
The homeowners said they saw the man in their car at their home on Clippert Street near Ecorse Road at 2 a.m.
One of the homeowners chased the man away, but he left stolen items and his cell phone in their car. Three cars on the block had items stolen from them Friday morning.
The next morning, the couple found a knife in their lawn and poop on their porch. Police believe the thief left the items at the home.
“Got up the next morning, he had took a dump at my door. He left a knife in my yard," one of the homeowners said. "Police said it was retaliation because my husband scared him off."
The couple doesn't want to be identified because they fear he may return.
Police are looking for the man.
