TROY, Mich. – Troy police received an unusual call Thursday night -- two goats were wandering in traffic.
A 911 call alerted police to the goats.
"Sounds weird, but there is some goats running in the road on 15 Mile just west of Rochester Road," the caller said.
The caller tried to take matters into their own hands, but it didn't work.
"I tried to corral them, but I don't know where the heck these things go," the caller said.
Police said the goats were in a busy industrial and commercial area near Maple and Rochester roads. The officer who responded had an alleged fear of goats, but police were able to round up the animals.
"He got to interact with them and likes the goats,” Sgt. Meghan Lehman said.
How exactly did goats end up in Troy? Robert Twitchell was babysitting the goats behind his home near the intersection.
"My buddy drove by and said he seen my goats outside and I'm like, that's exactly what I need right now," he said.
Goats are allowed in Troy as long as there is three-quarters of an acre of property for the animals or a permit.
