DETROIT – An 11-year-old boy who left his home after being placed on punishment has been found safe.
Detroit police said Timothy James Washington III was reported missing around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday after he left his home in the 14100 block of Abington Avenue on the city's west side.

Timothy's mother said he left the home without her permission after he was placed on punishment.
Police said Thursday he has been found safe and is "doing fine."
