US Postal Service offers reward in search for Detroit carjacking suspect

USPS says mail carrier was carjacked at gunpoint near Braile Street, Dover Avenue

DETROIT - A United States Postal Service mail carrier was carjacked at gunpoint Friday afternoon while delivering mail near Braile Street and Dover Avenue in Detroit.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service now is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in this crime.

The suspect is described as a black man between 15 and 25 years old standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 125 pounds. He did not have any facial hair and was wearing a red T-shirt, black jeans and a black coat.

He is depicted in the attached sketch.

The man was last seen fleeing on foot after he abandoned the USPS vehicle near Fenkell and Coyle streets.
