Van Buren Township School District teacher charged with sex crime

Andrea Brennan accused of distributing sexually explicit material, alcohol to 15-year-old boy

DETROIT - A teacher from the Van Buren Township School District is facing a felony sex charge.

Andrea Deanna Brennan, 37, teaches at North Middle School in Belleville. She's charged with distributing sexually explicit material to a minor, using a computer to commit a crime and a misdemeanor charge of providing alcohol to a minor.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said police found Brennan in a car at 1:30 in the morning on July 10 with a 15-year-old boy. The car was near the softball fields surrounding a parking lot at Beck and Ayres.

She's accused of giving the teen alcohol and sending him explicit material over a computer.

The prosecutor's office said the teen is not a student of Brennan's.

She was arraigned Tuesday and released on a $10,000 personal bond. She has been ordered to avoid any contact with the teen.
