Members of the MHS rescue team used leashes with wet food on them to attempt to lure the kitten from the drain pipe that was under a back porch. A video of the rescue is below.

According to Chris Ouwerkerk from the rescue team, it took multiple failed attempts before the kitten grabbed onto the leash.

After the kitten was rescued, more meows were heard from another pipe. Two more kittens were discovered.

The last kitten the rescue team attempted to get out of the drain wasn’t grabbing the leash and gave the team a difficult time. They left the leash in the pipe for a while, until the kitten came to the top of the pipe and was able to be grabbed.

In total, three kittens — Logan, Lucas and Gabriel — were rescued.

When a concerned homeowner heard a faint "meow" coming from a drain pipe in his backyard, he quickly called the Michigan Humane Society to help retrieve the kitten stuck inside. After multiple attempts, our investigation team was able to pull him out, only to find that 2 more were stuck inside! It's because of your support that the Michigan Humane Society was able to help these 3 little guys get the care they needed.
