Woman driving erratically with 2-year-old passenger crashes into several cars in Detroit

Drugs may be a factor, police say

DETROIT – Detroit police say a woman and a 2-year-old girl were taken to a hospital after the woman crashed her car into several vehicles while heading eastbound on Grand River Avenue near Evergreen Road.

Authorities say they believe the woman was under the influence of drugs and driving with an unrestrained 2-year-old in the back seat.

Police say the woman's mother also was a passenger, who police believe was also under the influence of drugs.

The 2-year-old child was transported to Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

At least five cars and a light pole were damaged during the incident which began in a Meijer's parking lot.
