Woman robbed, beaten at gas station in Eastpointe

Attack captured on video

EASTPOINTE, Mich. – It was about 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 when the victim pulled into the BP gas station in the 15000 block of East 10 Mile Road in Eastpointe to pump air in her tires.

Police say 22-year-old Malcolm Allen saw her as an easy target for a quick buck. They says he punched her in the face and smashed her head against the car. You can see the scuffle in the video. The victim says she gave him $140 but that wasn't enough to stop the beating.

A woman sitting in the front passenger seat of the victim's car told police she feared she would be attacked next, so she gave him her wallet.

Police say Allen then ran away.

Watch this video again, but this time pay attention to what's happening as the attack was taking place. No customers at the busy gas station came over to help the victim until it was over. A woman in desperate need of help was left to fend for herself.

Allen was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery, concealing stolen property and possession of marijuana.
