ANN ARBOR, Mich. - A 22-year old man from Ypsilanti died Thursday morning in a single-car crash on eastbound I-94 near Platt Road in Ann Arbor.

Michigan State Police said the man lost control of his car, ran off the roadway and the car overturned.

During the crash, he was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's only passenger, a 21-year-old female, also from Ypsilanti, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they believe alcohol and lack of seatbelt use contributed to the crash and death of the driver.

Eastbound I-94 was closed for nearly four hours while police investigated the incident.
