🏒 It's NHL Draft Day: Here's what to know

Welcome to the 2019 NHL Draft!

I never used to get excited about the draft. I can't say I get that excited about it now, but at least the league does a better job of making it about the players and their stories. So I'll be watching for that reason alone.

I'll also be watching to see what Steve Yzerman does in his first draft as Red Wings GM. I am hoping to see him take the best available player at 6th overall -- I wrote about that here.

There could be some trades happening tonight, too. Jack Hughes likely is going 1st overall, unless the New Jersey Devils decide Kaapo Kakko is the better option. But the rest of the draft is not clear at all. So buckle up when the Chicago Blackhawks are on the clock.
