SAWYER, Mich. – Warren Dunes State Park has been named one of the 10 best pet-friendly beaches in the U.S. by Invitation Homes.

Invitation Homes, a house leasing company, talked to locals, vacationers and Reddit users to determine the best pet-friendly beaches nationwide. Below are all the beaches that made the list.
Factors such as leash laws, whether pets can go into the water, what time of year pets are allowed at the beach and whether there is a pet-only section of the beach were considered.
Warren Dunes, situated on Lake Michigan, is a 1,952-acre park with three miles of shoreline and six miles of hiking trails. Two and a half miles of shoreline allow pets, and pets can swim in the lake.
The nature trails and nearby campgrounds helped the park stand out from other beaches.
In all areas of the park, pets must be on a 6-foot leash and must be under a handler's immediate control at all times.
Pet owners are advised to always clean up after their pets, keep them from interacting with wildlife and keep them from disturbing visitors.
