Dogs, hot air balloons to take over Frankenmuth during Dog Bowl, Balloons Over Bavarian Inn

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. – Dogs and hot air balloons both come to Frankenmuth on May 27-28 for the 2017 Dog Bowl and Balloons Over Bavarian Inn.

The weekend will include 29 dog events, 22 events for pets to participate in, 25 hot air balloons, six balloon flights and three balloon glow events.

The Olympics-style events for dogs and the balloon competitions are free to attend and watch.

Dogs will show off in a Dock Dogs competition, in which they will compete for distance, height and speed by jumping into a pool; a costume contest; a disc competition; wiener dog races; and other events and competitions.

There will also be police K-9, assistance dog and sheep-herding dog demonstrations.

Both days of the event will begin and end with balloon flights. The weekend will conclude Sunday night with a fireworks show.
