Barktoberfest for dog and beer-lovers in Royal Oak this weekend

Celebrate local beer and dogs this weekend at Royal Oak's Barktoberfest.

The fall festival, organized by the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, invites people to leash up their pooch and come out to enjoy locally brewed beer, food and live music while browsing vendor booths. Dogs can compete in the Howl-a-ween Costume Contest, Weiner Dog Race and more events.

Live bands scheduled to perform include The Gasoline Gypsies and The Orbit Suns.
