DETROIT – Campers who want to take their furry friends camping with them might be getting the option to do so at some Michigan state parks.
The Department of Natural Resources will allow people who are traveling with dogs or cats to camp out at some state park cabins and lodges starting in November.
Travelers can visit the campsites with leashed pets, but can't stay in the state-owned facilities.
Pets will be allowed at Harrisville State Park, Sleepy Hollow State Park, Lime Island State Park, Leelanau State Park and Cheboygan State Park this fall.
