Rescued kitten takes first steps

Veterinarians had doubts young cat would walk again

A kitten rescued from the freezing cold on Dec. 23 in Oakland County is making strides despite a diagnosis which left veterinarians and rescuers concerned he never would walk again.

Tigerlily Cat Rescue shared a video of Noel taking his first steps since his recovery and rehabilitation began.

Noel had suffered hypothermia and had instability between bones of his neck vertebrae, inflammation and bacterial infection of the brain/spinal cord mostly due to bites in the neck area.

He has been seeing a neurologist.
