DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers could be in the market for a shortstop if Major League Baseball decides to suspend Jhonny Peralta for allegedly using performance-enhancing drugs.
Peralta is on the list of about 20 players MLB has linked to records at the Biogenesis Clinic in Miami, according to a report from ESPN. Peralta has denied using performance-enhancing drugs.
However, his name is in the records of the clinic's director, Tony Bosch, ESPN reports. Bosch is expected to name names this week for MLB.
According to one report, the league could be handing out 100-game suspensions to players such as Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun.
