DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons will hold an introductory press conference Thursday for new head coach Maurice Cheeks.
The conference will begin at 11 a.m. at The Palace of Auburn Hills. President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars will introduce Cheeks.
Cheeks agreed this week to become the team's next head coach. He is the franchise's fourth coach in six seasons and his job will be to end its four-year postseason drought.
Cheeks was 284-286 in the regular season and 5-11 in the playoffs as coach of the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers.
