Tigers look for another win against Phillies in Sunday's game

Tigers battle Phillies at Comerica Park, starting at 1:08 p.m.

DETROIT – The Tigers are aiming to sweep the Phillies in Sunday's game. The teams take the field at Comerica Park, at 1:08 p.m.

It was a Happy Birthday for Max Scherzer Saturday night at Comerica Park.

Not only did the Tigers pitcher turn 29 years old, he also became the first Tigers pitcher to start the season 15-1 since 1919.

Scherzer pitched six scoreless innings against the Phillies, allowed just one hit, and struck out seven.

Meanwhile, his counterpart, Phillies starter Raul Valdes, had a very rough night.

The Tigers scored 10 runs on 15 hits, five of those runs came in the first inning.

Miguel Cabrera returned to the lineup after missing four games with a sore hip flexor. He got right back into the swing of things with a home run, a single, and had 3 RBI in the game. Cabrera now has 99 RBI and 32 home runs on the season.

Torii Hunter also returned the lineup. He was 3-4 with an RBI.
