Report: Tigers open to trading Max Scherzer
Scherzer is entering final year of contract
DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers have informed teams they will listen to trade offers for pitchers Max Scherzer or Rick Porcello, according to a report by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Scherzer has only one year remaining before he's a free agent. Scherzer went 21-3 with a 2.90 ERA and a MLB leading 0.97 WHIP in 2013.
Porcello is also a free agent after this coming season. The report indicates the Nationals may be front runners to land Scherzer.
