DETROIT – Former Baltimore Ravens safety James Ihedigbo is now a Detroit Lion. Ihedigbo comes to Detroit to fill a spot vacated by Louis Delmas, who was released a few weeks prior.
New Lions defensive coordinator, Teryl Austin, coached Ihedigbo in Baltimore as the defensive backs coach. Ihedigbo started all 16 games for the Ravens last year, the first time he's done that in his six-year NFL career. Last year, he recorded three interceptions, and over 100 combined tackles for the Ravens.
Monday, the Lions made their first free agent signing of the year with the addition of wide receiver Golden Tate.
The team also resigned running back Joique Bell to a three-year deal.
