Pistons introduce newly acquired forward Ersan Ilyasova

Ilyasova traded to Pistons for Butler, Williams

DETROIT – Last week, the Pistons made a trade to bring ex-Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova to Detroit. Today, he was officially introduced as a Piston.

Ilyasova will wear No. 23 in Detroit.

"It's a huge opportunity for me. Hopefully be here for a long time and be helpful for the community," Ilyasova said during a live Twitter chat this afternoon.

"We didn't just get a stretch 4. We got a guy that can do a lot more than that," said Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy during the press conference.

The 6-foot-10 Ilyasova is a seven-year NBA veteran who has spent his entire career with the Bucks, averaging 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 453 career games, including 257 starts.

Last season, Ilyasova averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 36 starts and 58 games. A native of Turkey, Ilyasova was selected No. 36 overall in the 2005 NBA Draft. He also spent two years playing in Spain.
