DETROIT – Week two of the NFL season is prime for the taking in DFS. Week 1 Injuries, breakouts and bust can all affect who we target week 2. Below aren't necessarily the highest scorers for week 2 but the best values.
Quarterback:
Recommended Videos
Drew Brees: (NOS) DK $ 7,800 FD $8,900
If Marcus Mariota can throw for 4 TDs, Drew Brees will have a field day.
Sam Bradford: (PHI) DK $6,900 FD $7,500
Bradford and the Eagles O looked shaky in the first half but got it together in the second. Dallas' D didn't look fantastic Sunday night. This is Vegas' highest O/U line this week so expect lots of scoring in this one.
Andy Dalton: (CIN) DK $5,800 FD $6,900
Dalton is CHEAP for a Starting established QB. He has a new toy in Tyler Eifert and San Diego definitely showed they can be thrown on… well at least in the first half; I'm looking at you Lions.
Running Back:
Chris Ivory (NYJ) DK $4,700 FD $6,900
Ivory is the unquestioned bell cow of the Jets' offense. He is in a rare non committee situation. Ivory carried the ball 20 times for 91 yards and 2 TDs last week. The Jets will try and keep Andrew Luck off the field so he may see even more touches this week. My favorite reason to use him is he plays on Monday night and I love having someone play Monday night so you can watch your lineup fly up the leader boards.
Mark Ingram (NOS) DK $5,900 FD $8,000
Last week I mistakenly made the Redskins my target of choice and they played pretty well. This week it's the Bucs. If the Titans can put up 42 the Saints should run away with this. The Bucs D isn't bad but they will be on the field a lot. Ingram only had 9 carries for 24 yards last week but that was against a good Arizona D. I was encouraged by his 8 catches for 98 yards. A skill set he isn't known for. If Spiller still isn't back Ingram is a great play. I also like Khiry Robinson at his value. Saints win Big.
Tevin Coleman (ATL) DK $4,500 FD $6,500
I was extremely encouraged by Tevin Coleman's running style last week. He was gaining yards after contact and finding extra yards on every carry. He by far set himself apart from Devonta Freeman. He had 20 carries last week and average 4.0 Yards a carry. The Falcons play at the Giants this week who gave up 90 Yards rushing and 131 Yards Receiving to Cowboy RBs last week. Coleman is a great Value in Drat Kings.
Benny Cunningham (STL) DK $ 4,700 FD $5,800
Cunningham is a pure Value play if you are looking to save money. I don't expect a huge week but if Tre Mason is held out again, Cunningham will get tons of work. Washington's front 7 looked good against the Dolphins and Lamar Miller is much better than Cunningham.
Lance Dunbar (DAL) DK $3000 FD $4,800
$3,000!? Yes Please! If you watched the Cowboys game Sunday night it was extremely clear who the Cowboys passing down back was. Dunbar led the Cowboys with 70 yards receiving in week one. This week against the Eagles will be another shootout and without Dez, the Cowboys will be spreading it around. I expect Dunbar to have double digit receptions this week as he becomes a go to for Romo.
Wide Receiver:
Julio Jones (ATL) DK $8,900 FD $8,800
He is a Stud. Best WR in the league until proven otherwise. In a week where TE had huge weeks and number 1 WRs did not Julio stood out. He is by far Matt Ryan's favorite target. If you're going to find value at every other spot in your lineup, spend the extra money on Julio.
AJ Green (CIN) DK $7,500 FD $8,100
Tyler Eifert will demand more attention in the middle of the field after his big game last week. If that gives AJ Green even an inch of extra room he could have a big week. San Diego has to travel ¾ away across the county, which never bods well for teams.
Terrance Williams (DAL) DK $4,200 FD $6,300
With Dez Bryant hurt Williams becomes the number 1 WR on the Cowboys. While I think others may see more targets, like Jason Witten and Lance Dunbar, Williams is definitely the best deep threat.
Donte Moncrief (IND) DK $4,600 FD $6,000
If Hilton is out Moncrief will be the biggest beneficiary. He caught 6 of 11 targets for 46 yards and a TD last week against the Bills. Andre Johnson will most likely be covered by Revis Island. Moncrief will have a big game, IF Hilton doesn't play.
Tight End:
Last week you couldn't go wrong with a TE unless you picked Greg Olsen. I won't be recommending Olsen again until he proves otherwise. You are probably in the same boat this week. There are a lot of good TE plays. I don't expect as many TD's from TEs as last week so here are some value plays so you can spend money at other positions.
Jason Witten (DAL) $4,300 DK FD $6,000
Dez Bryant is out for 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in his foot. Witten becomes Tony Romo's favorite target. Witten caught 8 of 9 targets and had 2 TDs last week. I expect another fruitful week from Witten.
Jordan Reed (WAS) DK $3,700 FD $5,000
Desean Jackson is out for a few weeks which means more Targets to go around. Kurt Cousins targeted Reed 11 times last week. He caught 7 for 63 yards and a TD. Saint Louis has a great defense and Cousins will not have a lot of time to throw. He will be looking for quick short routes. Reed is not a blocking TE, more of a WR, so don't expect them to keep him in for pass protection too often.
Heath Miller (PIT) DK $3,500 FD $5,400
Pure value play here in Draft Kings. I don't recommend him for Fan Duel. Miller is very cheap in DK but caught 8 of 9 targets for 80 yards last week.
Def:
St. Louis Rams DK $3,100 FD $4,900
Miami Dolphins DK $3,300 FD $5,100
Tennessee Titans DK $3,000 FD $4,500
