Michael Phelps takes son Boomer into the water for a swim lesson
18-time gold medalist Michael Phelps took his two-month-old son Boomer for a dip while mom Nicole Johnson looked on. While it wasn’t Boomer’s first time in the water – proud papa Michael said the water temperature was probably too cold a few weeks ago when they brought him in the first time, and that’s why he didn’t like it – it seemed like Boomer enjoyed it this time around.
Phelps was able to spend some time with his family at home in Arizona between competing at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska – where he qualified for a U.S. record fifth Olympic team – and leaving for training camp with the 2016 Rio squad.
