Jim Caldwell will be Detroit Lions coach next season

DETROIT – Jim Caldwell will be the Detroit Lions' head coach next season,

Caldwell has been coaching the Lions since the 2014 season. The Lions went 11-5 in 2014 under him and lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild-Card game.

In 2015, the Lions went 7-9 under Caldwell. In the 2016 season, the team went 9-4 before dropping their last three games and backing into the playoffs. 

The Lions will play the Seattle Seahawks in a Wild Card playoff game on Saturday in Seattle.

That's two trips to the playoffs with an overall regular season record of 27-21 for the Lions under the leadership of Caldwell.
