The Dallas Stars are the final opponent in this January trip. The Red Wings (17-18-6-0) have a chance to get 5 out of a possible 10 points before returning home to face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.
Detroit is in last place in the Atlantic Division, 6 points behind the Ottawa Senators, and 8 points behind the Philadelphia Flyers, who hold the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot.
