The Red Wings have not had a draft pick in the top 10 since 1991 when they selected Martin Lapointe at 10th overall.

The New Jersey Devils, meanwhile, won the 1st overall pick, moving up from the 5th spot in the lottery.

The NHL draft is Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 in Chicago.
