Robinson is an offensive lineman drafted No. 2 by the Los Angeles Rams in 2014, signing a $21.28 million contract with a $13.79 million signing bonus. He played for Auburn in college.
Los Angeles declined Robinson's fifth-year option, making him a free agent at the end of the 2017 season.
Schefter notes the Taylor Decker injury left the Lions looking for an offensive lineman, and the Rams had already moved Jamin Brown ahead of Robinson.
Detroit needed another OT with injury to Taylor Decker and Rams were using OT Jamin Brown ahead of Greg Robinson. Thus, a trade.
