Plymouth Whalers beat Sarnia Sting for 6th-straight win

Plymouth is just 2 points behind 1st place London Knights

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The Plymouth Whalers defeated the Sarnia Sting 5-4 Sunday night in Sarnia.

The Whalers (43-17-2-1) had goals from Stefan Noesen, Rickard Rakell, Alex Aleardi, Mitchell Heard and Garrett Meurs.

It was their sixth-straight win.

Sarnia (31-25-3-4) dropped its third consecutive game. Their 69 points put them in fourth place in the OHL's Western Conference.

Plymouth continues to have a stranglehold on the West Division. They are 21-2-2-1 against their division rivals and are 20 points ahead of the division's second-place team, the Sting.

The Whalers are on the road this week with a Wednesday game in Erie and a Friday game in Kitchener.

Their next home game is Sunday afternoon against the Owen Sound.

There are five games remaining in the regular season. Plymouth will finish season play March 17 against Sarnia.
