DETROIT – When the Detroit Lions drafted Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah in 2013, his birthday was listed as May 29, 1989. That means Ansah is a couple weeks away from turning 28.
However, recent reports from his home country of Ghana says his current age is 29. The Lions dispute the two-year age difference, telling MLive, "We believe our published information is accurate - born May 29, 1989."
The Lions drafted the defensive end in the first round in 2013. By 2015, he was a Pro Bowler netting 14.5 sacks that season, which was third in the league.
Though his fourth season was plagued by injury, he looks to return to his Pro Bowl form for the 2017 season as his rookie contract is set to expire.
